Sustainability
The Sea Nest is a typical island house dating back to the 1970s that is been slowly updated for modern living. The concept for the self-catering property is based on it being cozy, family-friendly and small.
Our housekeeper and tradespeople live nearby. Our laundry is done on-site or locally, eliminating transport to the mainland and supporting local industry.
Electricity and water are monitored to reduce our energy consumption wherever possible. A solar pannel supplies warm water to the kitchen and bathroom. All our cleaning products are environmentally friendly and we encourage our guests to turn off devices where possible.
For ecological reasons we don't have a swimming pool on our property as the sea is so close and water is a precious resource.
Although not always possible, we aim to keep our bookings to a minimum of three nights in order to ensure guests have more time to enjoy the island at a slower pace.
The house is located on an old pine tree ground and we are currently looking at ways to encourage more sun- and water-resistant flora and fauna.
We are proud to be member and supporters of EEPF - the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature.
